Smiley Shark and the Great Big Hiccup by Ruth Galloway

My Review

Smiley Shark and the Great Big Hiccup is the most hilarious tale that could quite possibly end up giving you the hiccups yourself!

The storyline follows Smiley Shark and the adventures he gets up to with his super fishy friends, to try and get rid of those bothersome hiccups.....

The pacing is really great and while we thought everything was very funny, we did feel a little bit sorry for poor Smiley Shark!

The best part of this was the way the story was brought so fabulously to life with the super vibrant illustrations. We couldn't stop looking at all the underwater fun that fills up every page.

The ending is another huge plus and the whole book ends on a big high.

A really great fun-filled book that really did glue us to the pages from start to finish!

4/5 Stars

Ding Dong Gorilla by Michelle Robinson & Leonie Lord‏

My Review

We adored Ding Dong Gorilla! It reads so wonderfully, is full of fun and also something big and hairy!

You know when you come back into a room and it looks like a bomb has went off? Well, what if there is a perfectly good explanation? Like a gorilla did it? That is exactly what happens in this adventurous tale!

When the front door bell rings and the front door is opened, it isn't the expected pizza deliver guy - but a huge hairy gorilla who invites himself in! He wrecks the whole place and when the pizza is eventually delivered can you guess what else he does?

The illustrations are big, bold and definitely eye-catching! We actually couldn't take our eyes off those fantastic pages!

This is an absolute must read book that is hilariously funny and could easily be read over and over again.

It just makes me question who makes all the mess in my house, because my daughter always says "it wasn't me......"!

4/5 Stars!

Socks by Elizabeth Lindsay & Nick Sharratt‏

My Review

Socks is one of them brilliant books that simply begs to be read out loud and with great enthusiasm! You will have the best fun ever with this super fun book and it's safe to say it has a place on our favourites shelf!

The illustrations are fabulous and the different brightly coloured socks are so eye-catching and quite wonderful! My daughter actually had to stop on every page to pick which pair she liked best - I had to pick mine too of course!

I think the best thing about this silly book is the way it flows and rhymes so beautifully. It also bumps along at a great fast moving pace and kids will not even have a second to be distracted!

We really did have a blast with this book and we will definitely be getting our grubby paws on PANTS, which I can only assume will be equally as brilliant!

A BIG 5 Stars!

Lily Gets Lost by Jane Simmons‏

My Review

This is such a lovely little book that is very heartwarming indeed! It is so brilliantly illustrated and the storyline is so sweet.

My daughter especially loves this because her name is lily too. But when Lily (the lamb) gets lost and scared my Lily got a little weepy, but I think it's because she is just so sensitive about getting lost.

Which is why I think Lily Gets Lost is such a great book, because the getting found at the end is really reassuring to little people. It also teaches them to be a little bit more aware when wandering off, because lets face it kids are always inquisitive little people.

All the farmyard animals are in here and we get to see them and what noises draw Lily's attention to them in the first place.

A really cute tale that definitely has the cute factor.

4/5 Stars

The Tickle Ghost by David & Brett McKee‏

My Review

"The Tickle Ghost is somewhere near, can you see him? Can you hear? He's slowly creeping up the stairs He's slowly creeping up the stairs he'll try and catch me unawares."

We adored this super fun filled book with it's hilarious storyline and it's big bold illustrations! I think it puts a truly positive spin on the ghostly bumps in the night - that might just prevent some children from falling to sleep.

At night when I say "tickle, tickle, tickle" my daughter squirms about and laughs like a maniac. Although this can be a little bit boisterous when kids are supposed to be sleepy - but hey it's soooo much fun!!

This story follows a little boy who has the best laugh at bedtime with his dad (the Tickle Ghost)! They make so much noise that the boy's mum comes up the stairs to check out the noise and is in for a bit of a surprise....

Pick up this book today if you are in need of a serious bedtime giggle!!

4/5 Stars!
