Fairy Princess - Holiday & Party Time Activities

 My Review

Wow, these super activity books are bursting with fun things to do on each and every page!

One is holiday themed and takes the reader through lots of fun holiday themed activities. You can make your own passport, luggage labels, book markers - plus it even has your very own pop-out princess to dress-up and enjoy. There are lots of great activities, from colouring, decorating, stickering, matching, dot-to-dots and other fun games. Did I mention the 850 super stickers?!

The second book is party themed and again there are lots of fun things to do. There are 2 pop-out
princesses to dress-up and enjoy this time...even a dog! From party invitations, outfits, colouring, sticking, spot the differences, decorating, puzzles and other super activities there really is never a dull moment. There are over 1000 stickers - hooray for more stickering!

These two activity books are a real must for all those little princesses out there. Girls (or boys?) will be entranced and entertained for hours upon hours on end. Great for imaginative work and promoting creativity! We loved these!

5 / 5 Stars!

Happy Birthday, Hugless Douglas by David Melling

My Review

Any Hugless Douglas book has us hip hip hooraying and beaming like idiots. What's not to love about Hugless Douglas?!

It's Douglas' birthday and he's really excited about his birthday party. But much to his dismay, his overly enthusiastic cousins bomb in and take over everything. Douglas is upset and heads off on his own - and has a bit of an accident!

We really enjoyed watching Douglas' great group of friends rally together to try and help Douglas and also the efforts they go to, to try and cheer him up. Plus, everything looks a little better with the arrival of cake....right?

The illustrations are so very wonderful, each page is super busy and has so much to delight in. Douglas' friends are everywhere and we love to watch their antics unfold.

Happy Birthday, Hugless Douglas is yet again another big winner form the super talented David Melling - who never fails to amaze and delight readers of all ages. It has some fab little friendship positives and is just all round fun with a capital F. We want many more Hugless Douglas books please!

Baby Touch: Happy Families

My Review

We are huge fans of these gorgeous Ladybird Baby Touch books! They are big, bold, bright and super striking - the illustrations really are a feast for little eyes!

There are lots of little touch and feel bits and pieces to explore, which were an instant big hit - especially the boat with the corrugated sail, as it makes such a great sound!

On each page there is a mummy or daddy animal and the question - 'can you find it's baby?' Little folks can then choose from 3 baby animals to find the correct missing baby. This is a super fun activity, that helps with matching and animal recognition.

Happy Families is a really lovely book that is a delight to explore together. There are lots of fab textures and also animal sounds. A big winner for us!

Jasper's Beanstalk by Nick Butterworth & Mick Inkpen

My Review

Jasper's Beanstalk is a very charming but simplistic tale that had us smiling from ear to ear!

Jasper finds a bean on Monday. Every day he does something to help it on it's way to becoming...a beanstalk. The overly enthusiastic Jasper is killing the little bean with kindness and at the end of a long week he admits defeat!

There are lots of lovely little positives throughout throughout this story - it shows that patience is a must have quality, it also gives a fab little insight into gardening basics and even introduces the days of the week in a really fun way. More importantly....never giving up!

The illustrations are gorgeously simplistic and very striking - we just couldn't wait to see what the super adventurous Jasper would do to his bean next.

Jasper's Beanstalk is a lightening quick read that is full of warmth and humour...it's definitely memorable!

Baby Touch: Hello Mummy!

My Review

Hello Mummy is an adorable little board book that is just the perfect size for little fingers!

Each page has a super cute baby animal and the question - Where's your mummy? Then there are the mummy animals who each have a different touch and feel bit to discover and explore. There are pandas (our favourite), kittens, lambs, ducklings and a lovely little mirror mummy surprise at the end. The mirror is a big plus because what baby doesn't love to look at themselves?

This is a really bright and sunny board book that is just bursting with life and vibrancy.

Hello Mummy is a really beautiful picture book perfect for sharing with baby. It introduces animals in a fun way and also different textures. One of the better first touch-and-feel board book out there!

The Gruffalo Activity Book by Julia Donaldson & Axel Scheffler

My Review

Put your hands up if you're a Gruffalo fan *raises hand wildly*. Well then what could be more exciting than the Gruffalo having it's very own activity book!

Inside there are lots of exciting and very fun things to do: spot the difference, word search, make a picture, a maze, complete the scene, colouring, a crossword, dot to dot, matching pairs, picture search and could and cut your very own Gruffalo mask - sounds fab - right?

Kids will be entertained for hours on end with the activities - admittedly I thought there could of been more to do inside as the book was a bit on the shorter side. Did I mention the reusable stickers? Yes reusable - isn't that excellent? Kids love stickering and what better thing than to be able to restick a sticker!

My daughter is 5 and was probably a little young for the crosswords and stuff - but she still enjoyed with a little help.

This Gruffalo activity book is a must for fans and also folks new to the Gruffalo world. We really enjoyed it!

A Wheelie Good Book of Colours - Zoom! (My Little World)

My Review

Zoom is a fantastic board book that is strong, sturdy and made to last - which is a good thing as we all know how rough those little fingers can be!

There are fab finger holes on each page, which makes turning and holding these pages much easier. This story also introduces colour recognition in a super fun way!

The text is a whole lot of rhyming fun and makes reading out loud very wonderful indeed. The animals are all going for a race but who will win when they're all having so much fun.

There is also a lovely little surprise at the end...

We thought the illustrations were wonderfully bright and cheerful - we loved chatting about the animals on each page.

Zoom is a lovely board book that introduces colours and is just all round great fun for all.

4 / 5 Stars

Busy Railway - Illustrated by Rebecca Finn

My Review

'Busy Railway, say hello, all aboard, now off we go!'

Busy Railway is a super strong and very sturdy board book that has some fantastic push, pull and slide tabs to explore.

It takes the reader through a super busy day on a railway. From getting all aboard, to train watching in the busy station, even seeing level crossings - your little folks are sure to have a blast! The little tabs are great for practising those fine motor skills and each page throws up some fantastic talking points for you and your little person.

The text is short, to the point but rhymes in a really beautiful way. Perfect for twitchy little people who can't sit still for too long.

Busy Railway is a super busy book that is bursting with life and colour. A lovely little extra is the busy bee to try and find and discover on each page! There is so much to learn and discover - it's a real must have!

4 / 5 Stars!
