My Review

Aw, this is a gorgeous little padded board book! It's huggily, wuggily and a whole lot of fun!

A super cute panda bear goes off on a wild adventure, trying out lots of different hugs in the search to find the perfect one. Which was actually hiding right under his little nose the whole time.

The text is a whole lot of beautiful, bouncy, rhyming fun. Little folks will be glued to the flowing rhythm. The illustrations are so fun and also have the super cute factor.

Our favourite part was the hug from the grizzly 'A hug from a grizzly is big but scary. Grin and bear it, but do be wary!' Also the jellyfish page, instead of not hugging those pesky jellyfish, our brave little fellow puts on rubber gloves and gives it a blast!

This is a perfect hugable and loveable rhyming board book that toddlers everywhere will adore.

Baby Twinkle (Caterpillar Books)

Quickie Review

Baby Twinkle is a gorgeous little board book! What makes it so lovely are the big high contrast illustrations that have little red shiny ribbons running through them - which makes them super eye catching and jump off the page.

Each page has a big bold illustration and it's written word. These are all key first words and with some reading and practise this book should help aid little people with mastering those tricky first words.

This is a really nice stand out from the crowd 1st words board book. It's eye catching and definitely hold those twitchy little people's attentions!

First Words (Little Tiger Press)

My Review

First Words is a gorgeously big, bright and very chunky board book that little fingers will just adore!

Every page has little lift up flaps, which is perfect for practising hand-eye coordination. When the flap is lifted it reveals a picture and it's written word. This is a fab way to introduce those memory skills and before long little people will remember when reading the lines 'what can you see?'

We adore the big bold illustrations, but what we love most is how under the flaps there are different children with the objects.

This is a perfect first word book that every toddler out there needs. Promoting language development at this stage is essential and this lovely little chunky board book does so brilliantly!

My First Jumbo Tab Book: My Busy Day

My Review

This is a brilliantly busy book for all those busy little bees that are buzzing around out there. Everything is new and super exciting to a toddler and this fab exploring book gives them more things to become familiar with and then try and discover in the world around them.

We love that it's a big chunky tab book because little fingers can so much more easily turn those pages and also you can choose from the tab what you would most like to look at.

On each page there is a theme, like: getting dresses, in the park, at nursery, snack time, bath time and bedtime. So it sets a really nice flow to wind down nicely for bedtime. Every page has objects and their written words on the page relating to the theme.

My Busy Day is a vibrant adventure that promotes language development, hand-eye coordination and memory skills. It's a real blast and we think kids everywhere will LOVE it!

What Does the Fox Say by Ylvis (illustrations by Svein Nyhus)

My Review

Based on the YouTube sensation...yes you heard it right, What Does the Fox say has probably been heard in some shape or form by everyone out there.

Not going to lie, the song actually grates on my nerves, especially when you have a 5 year old that plays it on repeat. But in all honesty Simon and Schuster stepped out of the box and made a real good move publishing this little bundle of oddness!

So, what does the fox actually say? well it goes a little something like this:

I'm sure you get the drift...

This is a super duper fun read. What is funnier is if you can imagine all those grandparents reading it to their grandchildren with looks of utter bewilderment on their faces...because they just don't get what the heck it's all about. There are also some strange lyrics in the verse about the fox being an angel in disguise and what not...yeah strange.

What made this book so special were it's illustrations. They are gorgeously quirky and most definitely stand out from the crowd. Really we could look at their subtle beauty all day!

This is a bonkers read but kids will LOVE it and adults will totally secretly love it. Have yourself a little sing song (it will take a little practise to get those mad lyrics correct), kick back and just have a blast with this memorable little book. A must read!

Snowflakes by Cerrie Burnell & Laura Ellen Anderson

My Review

Snowflakes is such a beautiful story full of love and the warm and fuzzies. It's so delightful to get all wrapped up in and I truly think every child needs to read it for themselves just to experience it's stunning little message.

Mia, lives in the big city but has to go live with her grandmother in the whispering forest. Mia, feels like she doesn't belong, like she is different and doesn't fit in this strange new place.

But Cerrie Burnell very beautifully and reassuringly puts the message across - that while every child is different, they are each perfect in their own very unique and special way. A message I think every child needs to hear.

The illustrations are so beautiful and are filled with magic an bucket loads of charm.

We think Snowflakes is a gorgeous debut from Cerrie Burnell that is both warm and snugly. An absolute must for every child out there. We can't wait to see more works from Cerrie in the future.

Christmas by Dick Bruna

My Review

Wow! This is such a stunning little Christmas story that is most definitely a real keeper.

Dick Bruna has very gently and very simply put together his version of the Christmas story and it makes for a very special read. What I think is so great is how easy it is for kids to wrap their heads around.

The illustrations are so simplistic and perhaps a bit old fashioned but there in lies the beauty - these illustrations are truly memorable. This is actually the 50th anniversary addition of this book - so it has very easily stood the test of time. I think it will be around for a very long time to come.

An absolute must have Christmas book for children everywhere!
